I have been selected for the Homeward Bound 2020 leadership program! I am over-excited about enrolling in #TeamHB2020 to contribute towards gender equality, women in science and collaborative science on global change.
What is Homeward Bound?
It is a state of the art leadership and strategic program for women in science from around the globe. I will be part of HB's fifth cohort, 75 women from at least 25 different countries who will follow a one-year leadership program followed by a three-week trip to Antarctica (planed for November 2020).
HB is about women in STEMM. About global challenges. About becoming a leader. About scientific literacy. About international collaboration. About increasing the visibility of women in STEMM who are changing the world. About the worldwide network of those very same women working together to protect our one and only planet. And sure, it's a little bit about Antarctica. Because Antarctica is a place at the front lines of climate change - what happens there impacts us all. During the next months I will be blogging about my preparation, activities and challenges leading to the Homeward Bound 2020 expedition! I am sure it will be a year of thinking outside the box and going out of my comfort zone (well, I already started, first time blogging!)

C'est quoi Homeward Bound?
C'est un programme de leadership et communication pour des femmes scientifiques à travers le monde. Pour sa 5ème édition, 75 femmes d'une diversité de pays vont participer à une formation de un an et des travaux en équipe, avant d'embarquer ensemble pour un voyage de trois semaines en Antarctique en Novembre 2020.
HB concerne les femmes dans les STEMM. Les défis mondiaux. Parle de devenir un leader. De la culture scientifique. De la collaboration internationale. De l'augmentation de la visibilité des femmes dans les STEMM qui changent le monde. Du réseau mondial de ces mêmes femmes qui travaillent ensemble pour protéger notre planète. Et bien sûr, il s'agit un peu de l'Antarctique. Parce que l'Antarctique est un endroit en première ligne du changement climatique, ce qui s'y passe nous affecte tous. En novembre dernier, HB a annoncé le lancement officiel de notre cohorte #TeamHB2020! Vous pouvez découvrir nos 75 profils sur cette page web et regarder la vidéo sur notre vision du leadership.
Au cours des prochains mois je vous raconterai sur mon année de formation, de préparatifs et des défis liés au Homeward Bound 2020! Je suis sûr que ce sera une année de «quitter les sentiers battus» et sortir de ma zone de confort (enfin, j'ai déjà commencé a sortir de cette zone, c'est mon premier blog!)
